Flax Seed Oil is a rich balanced source of essential fatty acids. These beneficial fats play important roles in supporting brain, nerve, glandular and eye functions. In addition, they are involved in the transport and metabolism of cholesterol and triglycerides.Essential fatty acids are further metabolized into hormone-like substances in the cell known as prostaglandins. Prostaglandins are involved in the regulation of many important physiological functions.* NOW® Flax Seed Oil has been specially processed to be as close as possible to the original oil in the seeds. The oil is cold pressed at about 100°F by a special process which eliminates the destructive effects of both light and air. The oil is nitrogen flushed when the bottle is filled to maintain freshness until opened.
